Lalania Balas is the founder of LBS Designs, creating hand-painted canvas totes and Italian silk scarves created in partnership with local aritists.

She grew up outdoors in Maine, skiing and spending summers at the family cabin. That's where the boat and tote lifestyle started. She still goes back every summer.

Then came the Garment Center in New York City, and LA. Six years ago she left the rat race and found her peace, and her creative happiness, in Boca Grande. Slow days, beach yoga, a paintbrush in hand.

Now she paints from her studio with her Pomeranian, Bella. Most nights she is grabbing Ice cream and sunsets with her husband in his vintage Cobra. And she travels, finding new places, new artists to partner with, and new keepsake totes to hand paint. That's what keeps her going.
